Dress Code Policy
Student dress and grooming are the responsibility of the student and his/her parent/guardian. When a student’s dress or grooming disrupts the learning process, the principal or his/her designee has the responsibility to take action. The following guidelines are to be used in determining appropriate dress and grooming in the school environment.
Dress and grooming are to be in keeping with health, safety, and sanitary practices.
Students may not wear clothing or hairstyles that can be hazardous in educational activities such as lab, shop, physical education or art classes.
Shoes must be worn as required by law. Flip-flops (made of rubber or plastic), beach footwear, slippers, heels, (skate shoes) and other footwear are inappropriate for school and are not to be worn.
Clothing and accessories are not to substantially disrupt the education process.
Students are not to wear clothing, buttons, patches, jewelry or any other items with words, phrases, symbols, pictures or signs that are indecent, profane, suggestive or inflammatory or that have negative overtones that appear to be derogatory or discriminatory.
Students are not to wear suggestive or revealing clothing that diverts attention from the learning process or that may lead to a student being insulted, assaulted or approached disrespectfully.
Students are not to wear sunglasses, caps, coats or hats in the building. Coats may be worn in breezeway or open areas of the building during inclement weather. Students are not to wear clothing, outerwear, pins, symbols or insignia of prohibited organizations or street gangs while at school or at any school-related activity.
Students are prohibited from wearing, while on the grounds of a public school during the regular school day and at school sponsored activities and events the following:
No tank tops or underwear may be worn as outer garments.
No spaghetti-strapped, racer-back, halter, or strapless shirts, blouses, or dresses may be worn.
No shirts or blouses tied at the midriff, clothing with bare midriff, or clothing not properly fastened are to be worn.
No shirts, blouses, or dresses that expose the back may be worn.
No shirts, blouses, or dresses that are sheer/see-through may be worn if clothing worn underneath does not meet dress code criteria.
No spandex shorts or pants may be worn.
No leggings or jeggings may be worn.
No jeans with holes, rips, or fraying may be worn.
No shorts or skirts may be worn if they are more than four (4) inches above the knee.
No pajamas or pajama jeans may be worn.
No sheer/see-through skirts may be worn if the lining does not meet dress code criteria.
No clothing with negative overtones that appear to be derogatory or discriminatory may be worn.
No clothing or accessories that are profane, suggestive, or inflammatory may be worn.
No clothing or accessories of prohibited organizations or street gangs may be worn.
No pants that fall/sag below the waistline may be worn; Belts are to be worn at all times.
No bandannas may be worn.
No head coverings may be worn (unless for religious reasons).
No clothing that exposes underwear or clothing worn as undergarments may be worn.
No clothing that exposes the buttocks (male or female) or the breasts of a female may be worn.
No flip-flops made of rubber or plastic may be worn.
No purses bigger than 7 inches by 7 inches may be used.
Only clear or mesh backpacks are allowed.
It is suggested that students not wear expensive jewelry or other expensive accessories to school. It is difficult to recover such items when they are lost. The local school and/or the Little Rock School District are not responsible for replacing lost or stolen property.

No SAGGING PANTS
No pants will be worn that fall/sag below the waistline/Belts are Required to be worn with all pants that have belt loops
NO leggings or Jeggings
No Leggings or Jeggings may be worn
Tops Not Allowed
No Tank Tops, Halter Tops, Spaghetti Straps, Tube Tops, Wife Beaters, or other tops that show undergarments or inappropriate amount of skin are to be worn
NO Midriff Baring Tops
No shirts or blouses tied at the midriff, clothing with bare midriff, or clothing not properly fastened are to be worn
no sunglasses or hats
Students are not to wear sunglasses, caps, coats or hats in the building.
NO short Shorts or Skirts
No shorts or skirts may be worn if they are more than four (4) inches above the knee
Small Purses only
Small cross body purses only for personal items.
